Softball Recap: Triton Trojans vs. North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays
Triton extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-18 in the process. They lost 17-2 to the North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Bluejays when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Triton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jillian Bules, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As for North Judson-San Pierre, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-8. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
On North Judson-San Pierre's side, Molly Madsen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Madsen has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, North Judson-San Pierre let Catlin Hammack and Lexi Howard run wild. Hammack got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Howard went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave Howard a new career-high. Allyson Williams also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Triton is set to challenge their familiar foe Caston at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, North Judson-San Pierre will take on rival Culver Community at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
