Football Recap: Saraland Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Saraland had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 17-6 win over the Jackson Aggies on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

A big part of Saraland's victory came down to the chemistry between Jamison Roberts and his top target Deshawn Spencer. Roberts threw for 203 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Spencer gained 144 total yards and a touchdown. That's the most passing yards Roberts has posted since back in September of 2024.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saraland will head out to take on Blount at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Spartans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Jackson, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Demopolis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
