Baseball Recap: Highland Takes a Loss

Highland had lost 23 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-19 to make it 24. They lost 19-2 to the Olympus Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 on Tuesday.

Highland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Morgan, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

As for Olympus, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

On Olympus' side, Tommy Nelson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Nelson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Olympus got a massive performance out of Josh Stohl, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Stohl has become a key player for the Titans: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was JACK EVANS, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Olympus beat Highland by a score of 13-1 on Friday.
