Softball Recap: Whitehouse Comes Up Short

Whitehouse entered their game against Hallsville on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Whitehouse fell just short of Hallsville by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Taylor Morris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits.

At the plate, Whitehouse saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laney Crawford, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Whitehouse's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Hallsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3-1 record this season.

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Whitehouse Wildcats duke it out with Texas Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Whitehouse 3.5, Texas 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hallsville, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Nacogdoches at 6:00 p.m. Hallsville is facing Nacogdoches at the right time seeing as Nacogdoches is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
