Volleyball Recap: Conestoga Takes a Loss

Conestoga lost against Yutan back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Chieftains. The Cougars' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Conestoga was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-15, 25-20.

Maggie Fiene paced Conestoga's offense, picking up 12 kills. Fiene got some help from Ayla Garrett and her 17 assists. Mylie Crook controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Allison Kirchmann went supernova For Yutan., getting 23 digs. Those 23 digs gave Kirchmann a new career-high.

Conestoga's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Yutan, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Conestoga and Yutan will both be playing Louisville the next time they take the court. The Cougars will head out to face the Lions at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Chieftains will head out to face them on Thursday.
