Volleyball Recap: Conestoga Takes a Loss

After a string of three wins, Conestoga's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Yutan Chieftains. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered since October 28, 2024.

Conestoga was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-15, 25-20.

Maggie Fiene paced Conestoga's offense, picking up 12 kills. Fiene got some help from Ayla Garrett and her 17 assists. Mylie Crook controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Conestoga's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Yutan, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Conestoga and Yutan will both be playing Louisville the next time they take the court. The Cougars will head out to face the Lions at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Chieftains will head out to face them on Thursday.
