Football Recap: Forest Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Keziyrehun Rivers and Caleb Sanford

Forest lost against South Lake back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats fell 30-25 to the Eagles. The Wildcats gained 62 more yards on the day, but it was the Eagles that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, Forest had strong showings from Caleb Sanford, who threw for 170 yards and one touchdown, and Keziyrehun Rivers, who rushed for 51 yards and a pair of scores.

Even if they lost, Forest's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Damir Jamerson was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

South Lake's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyrese Thompson, who rushed for 148 yards and one TD. Those 148 rushing yards gave Thompson a new career-high. Tre Kelly was in the mix too, providing South Lake with two touchdowns.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-2. As for South Lake, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Forest will head out to square off against Wesley Chapel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Lake, after each having a week off, they and Horizon will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. The Eagles are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
