Baseball Recap: University Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If University was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Washington last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The University Red Devils fell just short of the Lowell Cardinals by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. The match marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

University saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Chee, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Quincy Nash was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

University's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.6 runs. As for Lowell, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will face off against St. Vincent de Paul at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Vincent de Paul has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.2 runs per game on average), something University will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lowell, they will venture away from home to face off against Washington at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
