Soccer Game Preview: Valley Christian vs. Archbishop Mitty

The Valley Christian Warriors will head out to face off against the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley Christian's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Valley Christian managed to keep up with Bellarmine College Prep until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Warriors lost 4-0 to the Bells.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Archbishop Mitty). They were the clear victors by a 4-0 margin over Archbishop Riordan on Saturday. Given Archbishop Mitty's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Archbishop Riordan are ranked 842nd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-4-2. As for Archbishop Mitty, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3-3 record this season.

Valley Christian beat Archbishop Mitty 3-1 when the teams last played back in February of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
