Basketball Recap: Montevideo Piles Up the Points Against Minnewaska Area

Montevideo had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Minnewaska Area Lakers 87-56. Given the Thunderhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Lakers are ranked 169th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montevideo's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.5 points over those games. As for Minnewaska Area, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Montevideo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-59 victory against Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta on the 8th. Minnewaska Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
