League recap: Calvary Chapel gets lift from Bell's big bat

Bryan (bj) Bell was on fire this week, as he led Delphic with a .545 average, one home run and six RBIs. Calvary Chapel compiled a record of 3-0 in that time.

The Grizzlies outperformed the rest of the league this week, as their three total wins led the league. Calvary Chapel beat St. Michael's Prep 15-1 and Firebaugh 5-1.

Sierra Canyon gave up just four walks last week, ensuring that it held on to the top spot in the league in that category with only 24 allowed for the season.

Six batters hit over .400 this week. The group was paced by Brock Bell, who collected three hits in five at bats for a .600 average.

The Grizzlies' Bell led the league with six hits this week. On the season, he's hitting .459 and ranks third in the league with 17 hits.



Bell drove in five runners on Friday in Calvary Chapel's 15-1 victory over the Pioneers. He went 3-for-4 and scored three runs.

Bell threw a shutout as he led the Grizzlies to victory over Saddleback Valley Christian, 8-0, on Tuesday. He pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out five, while giving up zero hits.
