Basketball Game Preview: Central Crossing Comets vs. New Albany Eagles

The Central Crossing Comets will square off against the New Albany Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Central Crossing: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home, while New Albany has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.

On Wednesday, Central Crossing needed a bit of extra time to put away Chillicothe. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 victory over the Cavaliers.

Meanwhile, New Albany didn't have too much trouble with Chillicothe on Saturday as they won 46-32. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 342nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Albany's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Central Crossing, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.

Central Crossing might still be hurting after the 45-24 defeat they got from New Albany when the teams last played back in December of 2024.
