Softball Recap: San Diego Cavers vs. Mission Bay Buccaneers        
        
		
            
 San Diego was the  10-8 winner over Mission Bay when they last played one another  on April 9th, but their luck changed this time around. The San Diego Cavers fell  12-7 to the Mission Bay Buccaneers on Thursday. San Diego has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Hanna Patterson was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with two  runs, a  triple,  and a  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Destiny Ramirez, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Even though they lost, San Diego  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mission Bay struck out six times.
 On Mission Bay's side,  Eden Jaramillo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed 2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Jaramillo has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Jaramillo was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  Maraea Hicks and  Kiki Sullivan did most of the damage at the plate:  Hicks  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4, while  Sullivan  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, a  triple,  and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Kassie Zavala, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 San Diego's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Mission Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 4-13.
 San Diego will be playing at home against La Jolla at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. San Diego is facing La Jolla at the right time seeing as La Jolla is stuck on  a  20-game losing streak. As for Mission Bay, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Madison at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
