Volleyball Recap: Lamar's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Lamar and Jackson Academy, and Jackson Academy kept the tradition alive. Lamar lost 3-0 to Jackson Academy on Thursday. The contest marked the first time this season in which Lamar was not able to get on the board.

While Lamar was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-13.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lamar fell to 5-1. As for Jackson Academy, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Lamar and Regents will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jackson Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jackson Prep at 6:30 p.m. on the 18th.
