Southridge and Sunset are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Skyhawks will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Apollos at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Southridge came out on top against Beaverton on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Skyhawks walked away with an 8-4 win over the Beavers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Skyhawks.

Meanwhile, Sunset came tearing into Monday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Warriors.

Sydney Arnold made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Claire Hattendorf was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Townsend, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Sunset's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.75 runs across that stretch. As for Southridge, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.
