Football Game Preview: Howard Wildcats vs. St. Mark's Spartans + Official Tickets

The Howard Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Friday against the St. Mark's Spartans at 3:30 p.m. Howard is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Howard is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Archmere Academy, who was ranked 13th at the time (Howard was ranked third). The Wildcats never let the Auks get on the board and left with a 36-0 victory on Friday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by 32 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Howard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jameson Bryant, who threw for 226 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also rushed for 51 yards and one score on only five carries. That's the most passing yards Bryant has posted since back in August. Korey Manley did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 145 receiving yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Howard proved: they limited Archmere Academy to a paltry three yards per carry. The Wildcats didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.4.

Meanwhile, St. Mark's played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 55-21 loss at the hands of Red Lion Christian Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered since August 28th.

With the loss, St. Mark's broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-5. As for Howard, their record now sits at 10-0.
