Soccer Game Preview: Viewmont vs. Bountiful

The Viewmont Vikings will challenge the Bountiful RedHawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Viewmont who was credited with the win on Tuesday. The Vikings got it done in the shootout by posting eight goals to Woods Cross' seven. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Viewmont.

Viewmont will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Bountiful extended their winning streak to 12 on Tuesday. The RedHawks came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Northridge. That's two games straight that Bountiful have won by just one goal.

Bountiful pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those five matches. As for Viewmont, their record is now 9-5.

Viewmont suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Bountiful when the teams last played back in March. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
