Softball Recap: Maplewood Victorious

Maplewood proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 12) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the Chalker Wildcats get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Not much got past Addison Marker, who gave up just four hits and racked up 19 Ks to keep Chalker off the board. Marker has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Maplewood's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lexi Yannucci, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Maplewood now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Chalker, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
