Softball Recap: North Augusta Takes a Loss

North Augusta and South Florence squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but North Augusta had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bruins by a score of 4-3. If the Yellow Jackets were looking for revenge after losing 10-2 to the Bruins when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Eleanor Brummond spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Lia Allen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Emily Geddes, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

North Augusta's defeat dropped their record down to 25-6. As for South Florence, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-6.

As of now, neither North Augusta nor the Bruins have any future games scheduled.
