Basketball Recap: Elgin Takes a Loss

Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They came up short against the West Chicago Wildcats, falling 49-28. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Maroons of the 51-34 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-27. As for West Chicago, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-18 record this season.

Coming up, Elgin will challenge Plainfield South at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Plainfield South's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. West Chicago does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
