Softball Game Preview: Damonte Ranch Mustangs vs. Carson Senators

For the second straight game, Damonte Ranch will face off against Carson. The Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Senators at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Damonte Ranch has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Carson will arrive with three straight victories.

Damonte Ranch managed to slip by Carson the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs lost 9-3 to the Senators on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly six runs.

Angie Gomez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Madeline Wackowski made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Carson's record now sits at 9-10. As for Damonte Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Damonte Ranch hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373. However, it's not like Carson struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
