Soccer Game Preview: Sussex Central vs. Surry County

The Sussex Central Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Surry County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Sussex Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals back in February, they were much more limited against Southampton on Monday. They lost 8-0 to the Indians.

Meanwhile, Surry County hadn't done well against Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Surry County's defense stepped up to hand Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech a 2-0 shutout.

Khai Briggs and Chandelynn Moriyama scored both of Surry County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Sussex Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Surry County, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
