Basketball Game Preview: Basalt Longhorns vs. Steamboat Springs Sailors

Basalt hasn't had much luck against Steamboat Springs recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Basalt Longhorns will square off against the Steamboat Springs Sailors at 7:00 p.m.

Basalt is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 73-69 heartbreaker at the hands of Fort Lupton. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (62), the Longhorns still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Steamboat Springs earned a 54-44 win over Rifle on Saturday.

Basalt's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Steamboat Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.

Basalt ended up a good deal behind Steamboat Springs when the teams last played on February 7th, losing 57-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Steamboat Springs' Connor Baptiste, who to rack up 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.
