Softball Recap: Crimson Cliffs Has No Trouble Against Pine View

Crimson Cliffs had won three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 9-10 to make it four. They put the hurt on the Pine View Panthers with a sharp 11-0 win. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Gracee Stucki's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nyah Snyder, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Baird, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Crimson Cliffs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.

As for Pine View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured seven losses in a row.

On Pine View's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maycie Schmutz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Crimson Cliffs beat the Panthers by a score of 13-2 on Monday.
