League recap: Moorpark climbs in state rankings with win

Moorpark moved up to 43 from 80 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Marmonte - West. The Musketeers climbed the ranks as a result of besting Agoura 42-7.

Moorpark took down the Chargers 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Nathan Debeikes was the best wideout in the league this week as Thousand Oaks topped Calabasas. Debeikes tallied 12 receptions for 105 yards. Case Cookus helped Thousand Oaks' passing attack out by catching six balls for 51 yards.

Ike Fuchs put up the best numbers through the air as the Coyotes fell to the Lancers. He finished with 15 completions for 151 yards and one touchdown. Fuchs 's favorite target this week was Caleb Madden, who caught six passes for 64 yards.

Debeikes was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 95 yards as Thousand Oaks bested Calabasas. Matt Singleton also contributed to the rushing game with 30 yards on the ground.

Thanks to the talents of Clark Abourisk and Debeikes the Lancers have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Abourisk leads the league in passing with 1847 yards, while Debeikes has rushed for 564 yards this season. Oaks Christian's Francis Owusu leads the league in receiving yards with 627 on 35 catches.

Thousand Oaks' Abourisk is within 153 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Agoura.

A big matchup in Marmonte - West this week will be when the Coyotes take on the Lions. At the moment, Calabasas is in fifth, while Oaks Christian is in first.

The Musketeers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on the Chargers.
