Basketball Recap: Pawnee City Takes a Loss

Pawnee City lost against Palmyra back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pawnee City Indians lost 50-30 to the Palmyra Panthers.

Despite the loss, Pawnee City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kinsley Benson posted 13 points. That was a full 43.3% of Pawnee City's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Pawnee City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

The timing is sure in Palmyra's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Conestoga has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
