Volleyball Recap: Cathedral Academy's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cathedral Academy had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They blew past the St. John's Christian Academy Cavaliers 3-0. This was a revenge game for the Generals: when they faced off against the Cavaliers back in August, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

While Cathedral Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 27-25, 25-21.

Loss or not, St. John's Christian Academy got some senior leadership from Chandler Cumbie and Kylie Finley. Cumbie had 18 kills, five blocks, four digs, and four aces, while Finley had seven kills, four digs, and three blocks. Cumbie has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more kills the last 13 times she's played. Olivia Kunkle was another key player, getting 11 digs and one assist.

The win got Cathedral Academy back to even at 12-12. As for St. John's Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.

Cathedral Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against First Baptist School on the 6th. As for St. John's Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Dorchester Academy on the 6th.
