Soccer Game Preview: Newton County vs. Choctaw Central

The Newton County Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Choctaw Central Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Newton County is headed into Tuesday's following a draw, the team's first since November 16. They and Neshoba Central finished up their matchup with a 3-3 draw on Saturday.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Choctaw Central's good fortune finally ran out back in December of 2024. They fell just short of West Lauderdale by a score of 4-3.

With that draw, Newton County's record moves to 6-9-2. As for Choctaw Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Newton County came out on top in a nail-biter against Choctaw Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Newton County since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
