Volleyball Recap: Monday's Win Is Cicero-North Syracuse's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

Cicero-North Syracuse won the last time they faced Baldwinsville and Ryan Leahey did his part to make sure it happened again. The Northstars put the hurt on the Bees with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday thanks in part to Leahey, who had 13 kills, six blocks, five digs, and five aces. He has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 15 times he's played.

Cicero-North Syracuse not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Baldwinsville between 14 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14, 25-16.

Cicero-North Syracuse's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Copeland, who had nine kills, four digs, two blocks, and two aces. That's the most aces Copeland has posted over his last four contests. Dylan Fournier was another key player, getting 23 assists and six digs.

Cicero-North Syracuse is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Baldwinsville, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cicero-North Syracuse will host Living Word Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Baldwinsville, after both having extra time off, they and Jamesville-DeWitt will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
