League recap: Central gets lift from Benoit's big bat

Davon Benoit was on fire this week, as he led Super Essex - Independence with a .800 average with two RBIs. Meanwhile, Central put together a 1-1 week.

Irvington went from 13644 to 13436 in the national rankings since last week after going 1-0 in the past seven days. The Blue Knights are currently No. 335 in the New Jersey state rankings, with an overall record of 3-3.

The Blue Devils' pitching staff was best in the league in terms of hits allowed, with just five over the past week. Central has surrendered a mere 69 hits this season.

R. Rodriguez threw a shutout as he led Bloomfield Tech to victory over University, 11-1, on Wednesday. He pitched five scoreless innings and struck out 11, while giving up zero hits.



Rodriguez was an RBI machine on Wednesday, as he knocked in five runs during Bloomfield Tech's 11-1 win over University.
