Baseball Recap: Vision vs. Parma Panthers

Vision extended their losing streak to 16 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 2-16 in the process. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parma Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Parma this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 two weeks ago.

Payton Williams made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

As for Parma, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-14 record. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

On Parma's side, Samuel Hultman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hultman also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Parma is 4-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-12 otherwise. Hultman was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other pitching news, Danner Osborn looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

Back at the plate, Jacob Mikelson and Jared Mikelson did most of the damage at the plate: Jacob went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Jared got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Jared a new career-high. Hunter Mitchell was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
