The Paradise Valley Trojans will head out to face off against the Verrado Vipers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Paradise Valley is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Last Thursday, Paradise Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Desert Edge and fell 3-2.
Paradise Valley took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-15, 21-25, 25-23, 15-10.
Verrado not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on North Canyon with a sharp 3-0 win. The Vipers haven't had any issues with the Rattlers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Verrado was: they took every set by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-6, 25-4.
Verrado's win came from a few key players Paradise Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Aniah Brown, who had 14 kills, ten digs, four aces, and one block. Those ten digs gave her a new career-high. Elleana Bejarano was another key player, getting 17 digs and four aces.
Verrado was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive matches.
Verrado's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Paradise Valley, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
Paradise Valley might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Verrado in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
