Soccer Recap: Wheeling's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Conant, Wheeling was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Proviso East Pirates 2-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for Wheeling as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Nicole Schreiner and Krystal Diaz scored both of Wheeling's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Wheeling's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Proviso East, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheeling will welcome Schaumburg at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Proviso East, they will take on Glenbard North at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Proviso East will be up against Glenbard North's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.8 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
