Baseball Preview: Conifer Lobos vs. D'Evelyn Jaguars
The Conifer Lobos will head out to square off against the D'Evelyn Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Conifer is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Conifer came up short against Standley Lake and fell 4-1.
Conifer saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Adams, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask D'Evelyn). They put the hurt on Englewood with a sharp 15-0 win on Saturday. With that victory, the Jaguars brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Leo Vigil and Kevyn Feldon did most of the damage at the plate: Vigil scored three runs while going 1-for-2, while Feldon scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Marshall Pharris also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
D'Evelyn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
D'Evelyn's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Conifer, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
