Football Recap: Sheridan Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Delphi Community last Friday, Sheridan came back down to earth. The Blackhawks were beaten by the Eastern Comets 47-18 on Friday. The Blackhawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-2.

Even if they lost, Sheridan's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. In that department, Jaden Dunbar was the leader with two. He has been hot, having posted at least one sack the last five times he's played. Sheridan got some further help from Jonathan Barnes: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles.

Eastern got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Pickett out in front who rushed for 172 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Pickett has posted since back in October of 2024. Another passer making a difference was Gibson Eagle, who threw for 180 yards and two TDs.

Sheridan's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2. As for Eastern, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.
