Basketball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Eastern played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 66-26 loss at the hands of the Carroll Cougars. The Comets have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Eastern still got an impressive performance from Allie Hueston, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave Hueston a new career-high.

Emily Justice had an outrageously good game for Carroll as she went 7 of 10 en route to 19 points. Jillian Salts was another key player, putting up 12 points along with five boards and three blocks.

Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Carroll, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Eastern didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-19 loss against Clinton Prairie on the 24th. Carroll has also already played their next match, a 48-35 victory against Tri-Central on the 23rd.
