Lake had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They never let the Chardon Hilltoppers get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The Blue Streaks were shut out 14-0 the last time they took on the Hilltoppers, so the Blue Streaks were just returning the favor.
The result came thanks to Gianna Greathouse's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Olivia Brown was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. Peyton Ury was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one double.
Lake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chardon only posted an OBP of .241.
Lake's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Chardon, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10.
Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chardon, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Medina at 5:00 p.m.
