Baseball Recap: Palm Springs Comes Up Short

Palm Springs came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Palm Desert Aztecs, falling 14-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Aztecs this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-0 defeat back in March.

Palm Springs saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Ernesto Arroyo, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Palm Springs has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for Palm Desert, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Coming up, Palm Springs will challenge Rancho Mirage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rattlers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Palm Desert, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beaumont at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in the Aztecs' favor as the squad sits on 11 straight wins at home while the Cougars have been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road.
