Baseball Game Preview: Eads Eagles vs. Manzanola Bobcats

Eads has gone 9-1 against Manzanola recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eads has 15 straight victories, Manzanola has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Eads barely beat McClave the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Cardinals on Friday. Considering the Eagles have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Adyn Hough made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Stockton Mitchek, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Case Nelson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Manzanola challenged Cheyenne Wells on Wednesday. The Bobcats came up short against the Tigers, falling 14-2.

Manzanola's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Eads, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Everything went Eads' way against Manzanola in their previous meeting back in March, as Eads made off with an 18-0 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
