Basketball Game Preview: DeSoto County Bulldogs vs. Lake Placid Dragons

Having just played yesterday, the DeSoto County Bulldogs will get right back to it and host the Lake Placid Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Placid took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on DeSoto County, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, DeSoto County turned things around against Hardee on Monday. They claimed a resounding 70-36 win over the Wildcats. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-13.

Meanwhile, Lake Placid was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 78-40 loss at the hands of Avon Park. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 726th, while the Red Devils are ranked 247th).

DeSoto County's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Lake Placid, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

DeSoto County didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lake Placid in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win. Will DeSoto County repeat their success, or does Lake Placid have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
