Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Charlotte). They blew past the Fort Myers Green Wave 92-54 on Friday. Given the Fightin' Tarpons' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Green Wave are ranked 444th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Green Wave players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vinny Carbonara, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Halgrim, who put up eight points.

Charlotte pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points per game. As for Fort Myers, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-6 record.

Charlotte has already played their next match, a 61-53 defeat against IMG Academy Gold on the 14th. As for Fort Myers, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-58 win against Dunbar on the 11th.
