Baseball Recap: Madison Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

The matchup between Madison and LEE on Saturday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Mavericks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Volunteers, sneaking past 10-9. The win was familiar territory for the Mavericks, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Landon Lee was excellent, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Trent Shepker also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Madison's record is now 11-15-1. As for LEE, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Madison will challenge rival SA Roosevelt at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, LEE is set to face off against their familiar foe Churchill at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
