Tolland extends home winning streak to five

Recap: Tolland Eagles vs. Edwin O. Smith Panthers

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bloomfield, the Tolland Eagles were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Edwin O. Smith by a score of 31-24. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Tolland's seven-point performance the game before.

Tolland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Caminiti out in front who rushed for 12 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 74 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Howe, who gained 77 total yards and a touchdown.

Edwin O. Smith's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sam Dejesus Jr., who rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns.

Tolland has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 7-3 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.2 points per game. As for Edwin O. Smith, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

Tolland will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Gilbert/Northwestern/Housatonic at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Gilbert/Northwestern/Housatonic: 18.1, Tolland: 15.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Edwin O. Smith does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
