Volleyball Recap: Ryle Falls Short Against Ranked Summit

Ryle is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Summit. The Raiders took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Friday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-18.

Ryle's offense was headlined by Ashley Towner and Morgan Heater, who picked up four kills apiece. They were helped by Morgan Gehring and Clare Holtzapfel, who contributed seven assists each.

With the loss, Ryle broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-9. As for Summit, they pushed their record up to 17-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Ryle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Scott on the 22nd. As for Summit, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Franklin on the 20th.
