Basketball Recap: Sunrise Mountain Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mountain Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sunrise Mountain). They took down the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions 75-60 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sunrise Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Steven Brown, who shot 71% from the field on his way to 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Carney, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 10 points and eight rebounds.

Sunrise Mountain's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Mountain Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Sunrise Mountain will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on December 8. As for Mountain Ridge, they will take on La Joya Community in a tournament on Saturday.
