Baseball Recap: Eureka Comes Up Short

Eureka's last matchup with Oakmont could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Wednesday. The Loggers came up short against the Vikings, falling 8-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-2 on Wednesday.

Eureka's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Oakmont, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eureka will venture away from home to take on Fortuna at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The contest will give the Loggers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Oakmont, they will head out to square off against Bear River at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
