Baseball Recap: Hatley Takes a Loss

Hatley extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-2. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Smithville Seminoles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Seminoles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 on Saturday.

As for Smithville, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Five seems to be a good number for them as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Smithville's part, the team relied heavily on Jacob Hutson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

While Hatley had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
