Softball Recap: Licking Has No Trouble Against Winona

Licking's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 24-3 margin over Winona. The game marked Licking's most dominant win of the season so far.

Allie Medlock and Kimree Brazier did most of the damage at the plate: Medlock got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one triple, while Brazier scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That triple was Medlock's first of the season. Lilly Godi was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Licking was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winona only posted a batting average of .333.

Licking pushed their record up to 3-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Winona, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Licking has already played their next contest, a 22-14 victory against Stoutland on the 1st. As for Winona, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-9 loss against Summersville on the 1st.
