Green River extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Jason Hernandez. The Pirates took down the Monticello Buckaroo 58-40 on Friday with plenty of help from Hernandez, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 19 points along with six assists and four steals. The game was his eighth in a row with at least 18 points.

Another player making a difference was Cristian Mendoza, who posted four points and ten boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Green River's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Monticello, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-11 record.

Looking ahead, Green River will challenge Wayne at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates' defense better be ready for this one: the Badgers have averaged an impressive 61.8 points per game this season. Monticello does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
