Softball Recap: Patrick Henry Wins Going Away Against Wauseon

After only one run in their last contest, Patrick Henry made sure to put some runs up on the board against Wauseon on Thursday. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 19-9 margin over the Indians. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kasey Nelson, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 games. Haylee Haas also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Patrick Henry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. They got six more hits than Wauseon's also-impressive total of 16.

Patrick Henry's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Wauseon, they dropped their record down to 6-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Patrick Henry will head out to challenge Holgate at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Patriots are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Wauseon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hilltop at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cadets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
