 Westview is 7-2 against Lakeland since April of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Monday. The Westview Warriors will head out on the road to  challenge  the Lakeland Lakers at 5:30  p.m. Westview is no doubt hoping to put an end to  an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
 Westview lost  11-5 to Jimtown on Friday.
  Briana Kaufman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with a  triple and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Kyiah Michels, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Lakeland fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Concord  on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Minutemen by a score of  9-7. The  defeat   continues a  trend for Lakeland in their matchups with Concord: they've now lost three in a row.
  Kaitlyn Keck led a balanced group of hitters,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.  Cheyenne Short was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-4.
 Westview now  has a losing record at 5-6. As for Lakeland, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
Lakeland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Westview has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 9.2  hits per game. It's a different story for Lakeland, though, as  they've been averaging 10.8. Given Westview's sizable advantage in that area, Lakeland will need to find a way to close that gap.
 Westview skirted past Lakeland  8-7 in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westview since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
